As Abraham Lincoln once said, “Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe,” and we can’t think of a better place for that quote than in Bubble Soccer. Unlike a regular soccer match which requires a ball and some imagination to select the goals, bubble soccer takes more time and effort to prepare. The keys to a great Bubble Soccer match are location, time, and excitement.
Selecting the right locations for your bubble soccer event is key. Bubble Soccer can be played both indoors and outdoors but we suggest outdoors because the ground tends to be softer and it gives a more soccer-y feel. Regardless of whether you want to play inside or out your location should have ample parking for all of your guests and a bathroom is always a good idea so people can at least freshen up before their drive home. If you’ve decided to have an outdoor event then you should choose a park with a large flat surface, that’s close to a parking lot, and with some shade nearby. We always recommend the putting green on the 18th hole of a prestigious golf course because the ground is relatively flat, covered with soft grass, has a great clubhouse nearby, lots of people watching your exciting game, and they’re be cheering you on / yelling at you.
Once you’ve chosen your location prepping your event is essential. If your Bubble Soccer event is in the Los Angeles area, let Stratus handle everything so you can just arrive and enjoy your event. If you’re not in our area we’ll give you tips to get your event ready. First, as a handy metric give yourself 4 minutes to inflate each bubble so if you have 10 bubbles you need at least 40 minutes to inflate your bubbles. If you have more than one pump you will be able to fill your bubbles up more quickly. As your bubbles are inflating make sure to put up cones for the field markers early so you can let other people in the park know that you’ve reserved the space. As you finish inflating each bubble, roll them off to the side and leave them upside down so each player can easier stick their head in the top and put their bubbles on. For larger events only use one pump with each car because using two pumps can drain your battery leaving you stranded after your event.
Lastly, bring your excitement! Bubble Soccer is always a ton of fun and after you’ve finished filling up your bubbles you might be a little tired but you’re about to go on an adventure that is going to blow you away.
